发生的事故，阿联酋警方推出斋月活动，呼吁驾驶员道路安全活动，提高
安全驾驶意识。

Dubai: Since the beginning of Ramadan, the operations room at Dubai Police has reported as many as 3,605 traffic accidents.
This comes after a man was killed and 14 passengers injured in an accident yesterday(Sunday).
“In 10 days, 195 of the accidents occurred half an hour before iftar that were caused by motorists speeding and driving recklessly, regularly changing lanes and not keeping a safe distance with the vehicle in front,” said Brigadier General Omar Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, director of operations. He added: “Motorists should exercise caution before crossing an intersection and make sure that the road is clear of pedestrians, especially in residential areas and neighbourhoods with zebra crossings.”
One man was killed and 14 passengers sustained injuries yesterday after two vehicles collided into each on Al Sufouh Road.
Lieutenant Colonel Saif Al Mazroui, acting director of Dubai Police’s Traffic Department, explained that the accident took place at 6.50am between a heavy truck and a bus that was transporting workers.
“The accident led to the death of one man and caused serious injuries to eight passengers, while six of the passengers sustained minor injuries and were transported to hospital to receive medical attention.

“The accident was caused by the bus driver’s lack of attention on the road who was also speeding recklessly,” said Lt Col Al Mazroui.
He also confirmed that a pedestrian was killed on Thursday night after he was run over by a speeding vehicle while he crossed Al Garhoud Bridge.
He explained that out of the total 23,417 calls received since the beginning of Ramadan, 5,050 were related to inquiries, 1,227 were dialled by accident and 255 wanted to be transferred to the hotline general inquiry 901.
In order to save police’s time and efforts in concentrating on emergency cases, residents are urged not to call the emergency number 999 in non-emergency events.
