Dubai's set for the record books again with an attempt at the largest fireworks display ever on New Year’s Eve. It's all set to happen on 31 December 2013 and here's what you need to know about it

WHERE 地点:
Palm Jumeirah and The World Islands are the centre of the fireworks display, 400 locations around the islands have been picked to launch the extravaganza.
WHO'S MAKING IT HAPPEN 承办:
US-based firm Fireworks by Grucci (who also designed the fireworks display for Atlantis' launch in 2008) are the people behind the pyro-power.
HOW 即将呈现的惊世烟花:
In six minutes, 400,000 shots of fireworks will go off spread across 100kms, synchronised with music. Plus, seven 660mm shells will be used to fire the main rounds of fireworks, each shot spreading over 700mtrs wide.

It's taken nine months to put it all together. Overall, 450,000 shells have been prepared and mounted on more than 60 heavy trailers. These will be placed at spots in Palm Jumeirah and The World, on land and on water, using floating platoons. 历经9个月,精心布置发射点。
THE SHOW 烟花表演:
Things will kick off with a 'Flying Falcon’ doing rounds of The World islands. Elements are also expected to include a 225mtr wide and 130mtr high UAE flag and the representation of the sunrise towards the end.

THE CURRENT RECORD 现有的世界纪录:
Kuwait holds the current world record for largest display of fireworks. The record was created in 2012, when to celebrate their 50th national day, 77,282 shots of fireworks were spread across five kilometres, lasting 64 minutes.
DUBAI'S RECORD CONFIRMATION 打破吉尼斯世界纪录,即将被见证。
Guinness World Record officials will be in Dubai for the show. The record is expected to be broken in 60 seconds but the show will last six minutes as Guinness Records' criteria requires it to last for at least five minutes to qualify for the world record.
